Hello, I'm Mark Fuertes. Welcome to the official site of TheShot by MK! I'm thrilled that you've taken the time to learn more about me and where this started.

I'm a software developer by day and a photographer by.... the weekend? My journey in photography began when I asked my mother for childhood pictures of myself to share in our wedding slideshow. Sadly there was only a handful of prints that she had available. She felt so much regret for not taking the time to capture more moments in my life growing up. I promised myself I would not make the same mistake with my children. Since then, it has been a source of inspiration and passion for me. After many hours of self study in photography theory, photo composition using lines, shapes, patterns, the laws of light, the geometry involved with knowing how lenses work with the DoF (Depth of Field) formula and software, I finally had the confidence... to buy a professional camera! That was only the beginning! It's taken thousands of photos to develop the courage to offer my skills behind the camera to those who want their moments captured.

When I'm not at my desk working on software, you can find me shopping online for a new camera lens, taking said camera out and capturing my little girl, training for my first adult 5k (I used to run CC in high school and recently picked it back up), running a couple of games in Call of Duty, or golfing with the boys. Everyone needs that place they can go to in order to refresh for wherever life may be taking them at the moment.
